Paths Crossed.

Sometimes a question like – “what if I had been born to another set of parents?”, or “what if I had gone to this college instead of that one?”, or “what if I had never answered that page from your brother that one night?”, or “what if we never took that walk, where I talked to you about that tree?”. Lots of “what-if” questions remind me of all that took place for us to cross paths again and again.

Remember when…
-We first met?
-I was wearing suspenders and slept every church service
-When we first kissed on the golf course?
-The picnic at the lake
-The tar on my floor mats from your feet
-Our long talk and walk behind CLU
-Your walk on the track with your mom when we reconnected after years of not talking
-Our prayer journal and desire for big things
-Visiting Chais as a little peanut
-The pit in the peach surprise dessert
-The $800 phone call from India
-Woodward park after a tough day, only to have it turnaround with our engagement

We crossed paths time and again and it is so crazy how random, how amazing, and how impossible it seems. We crossed paths. This Christmas, it reminds me God crossed paths with humanity in the birth of his son Jesus in the village called Bethlehem. Such a tiny, remote, speck of a place, and such a obscure, lack luster birth – in a trough, in a stable? As random and remote as it could be, God crossed paths with humanity, and somehow just like I found my wife Noelle, God found me, love found me. So we celebrate, the radical love that we have found and that has found us! Merry Christmas.

I will forgive you for the horrid picture of my face, only because of your words.

Everything happens for a reason and this journey has been a gift.
